Puerta del Sol is situated in the South of Costa Rica in San Isidro de El General. It is about 120 km (75 miles) away from San Jose when heading towards Panama. The Carretera Interamericana takes you past Cartago over the Sierra de la Morte mountain range. After crossing the Sierra de la Morte, you are already at the city limits of San Isidro. On the right-hand side there is a service station. After about 500 meters (1600 feet) turn right in the direction of Dominical. Another 1.5 km (1 mile) further on, you will see Puerta des Sol on the left-hand side.
